— The Dallas Cowboys saved their season for at least another week and deepened the Philadelphia Eagles’ collapse on Monday night, running past the injury-hit home team 38–21 at Lincoln Financial Field to close Week 7.

Six Lead Changes, Then Dallas Pulled Away

The game changed hands six times. Dallas led 20–14 at halftime; Philadelphia opened the third quarter with a 17-play, 84-yard touchdown drive that consumed 9 minutes 16 seconds and gave the Eagles a 21–20 lead on Tanner McKee’s first touchdown pass to rookie Makai Lemon. The last lead change came with 1:30 left in the third, when CeeDee Lamb caught a 16-yard touchdown from Dak Prescott and Prescott ran in the two-point conversion for 28–21. Dallas scored ten more in the fourth and Philadelphia scored none.

Prescott And Williams Carry It

Prescott, who had called the game a “must win, division opponent” to ESPN beforehand, went 15-of-27 for 212 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions. Lamb caught five passes for 74 yards and two touchdowns; George Pickens added four for 57 yards and a score. The ground game decided it: head coach Brian Schottenheimer, criticised a week earlier for abandoning the run, called 38 runs against 27 passes, and Javonte Williams set a career high with 155 yards and a touchdown on 25 carries — the first 150-yard rushing game by a Cowboy since Ezekiel Elliott in 2018. Dallas outgained Philadelphia 416 yards to 321, with 204 on the ground.

An Eagles Team Running Out Of Players

Philadelphia started without quarterback Jalen Hurts, and receivers DeVonta Smith and Dontayvion Wicks, among others. McKee, starting for the second straight week, went 23-of-35 for 211 yards with a touchdown and an interception, picked off by DeMarvion Overshown. Saquon Barkley returned after missing two games with a hamstring injury and scored on seven carries for 62 yards, then left with a back injury. Dameon Pierce, who ran 14 times for 47 yards and a touchdown, left in the fourth quarter with an undisclosed injury. No timetable for either back was announced. The defence recorded no sacks, no tackles for loss and no quarterback hits. Lemon led the receivers with seven catches for 67 yards and his first career touchdown.

The Standings, And What Is Next

Dallas is 3–4 after ending a two-game losing streak. Philadelphia is 2–5 after five straight losses, its worst run since 2016, behind the division-leading New York Giants (4–2–1) and now Dallas in the NFC East; Washington sits at 1–4–1. With the November 10 trade deadline two weeks away, USA Today noted the result may shape how Eagles executive Howie Roseman operates in the coming weeks.

Monday Night — In Short

Dallas 38, Philadelphia 21. Dak Prescott threw three touchdowns, Javonte Williams ran for a career-high 155 yards, and the Cowboys beat an Eagles team missing its quarterback and both starting receivers, then lost both its running backs during the game. Philadelphia has lost five straight; Dallas ends its own two-game skid.
