A documentary in its third weekend, a DC villain in its second, and $200,000 between them: Halloween at the box office came down to Sunday.

— A three-hour documentary about Elizabeth Holmes won the North American box office on Halloween weekend — in its third week in theatres, and by a margin small enough that Monday’s final figures could still reverse it. “You Can See Everything,” A24’s film about the jailed Theranos founder, co-directed by the comedian Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim, took an estimated $10.6 million in the United States and Canada, Exhibitor Relations said on Sunday, edging Warner Bros.’ Batman-villain film “Clayface,” estimated at $10.4 million in its second weekend, AFP reported.

A Photo Finish

The two films split the weekend by day. “Clayface” won Halloween itself on Saturday, taking $4.2 million to the documentary’s $3.58 million, according to Deadline’s hour-by-hour reporting; Friday and Sunday belonged to the documentary, whose projected Sunday of $3.45 million against $2.8 million put it in front. The reported margin is about $200,000. Rentrak’s figures put the documentary’s domestic total at $63.9 million after three weekends — against a production budget of $7 million — while “Clayface” stands at $44.1 million at home and $83 million worldwide against a $44 million budget, after a fall of more than half from its opening weekend. The Holmes film, which follows its subject and her family for a month before she began an 11-year prison sentence in 2023 for fraud and conspiracy, has entered the best-picture Oscar conversation, AFP noted.

The Rest Of The Chart

Third place went to Laika’s stop-motion fantasy “Wildwood,” holding with $7.5 million in its second weekend for a domestic total of $25.9 million. Black Bear’s “Wicker” took fourth with $4.1 million, down just 28 percent, for $13.3 million so far. Paramount’s video-game adaptation “Street Fighter” fell to fifth with $3.2 million in its third weekend; it has made $53 million in North America and $92 million worldwide against an $82 million budget. A live BTS concert film took $2.8 million in sixth.

A Slow Halloween

The weekend as a whole was weak: Rentrak estimated $55.7 million across the domestic market from October 30 to November 1, down 42.1 percent from the previous weekend but up 4.2 percent on the same weekend last year. Halloween fell on a Saturday this year, which kept audiences at parties and on doorsteps rather than in cinemas. The year behind it has been anything but weak: domestic ticket sales stand at $8.46 billion for the year to date, up 20.1 percent on the same point in 2025, and horror films have taken an estimated $1.38 billion at home — about $44 million short of the genre’s full-year record, set only last year. Next weekend brings a different test, with Warner Bros.’ “The Cat in the Hat” opening in about 4,000 theatres and “Godzilla Minus Zero” in about 2,700.

Box Office — In Short

A24’s Elizabeth Holmes documentary “You Can See Everything” took an estimated $10.6 million in its third weekend to edge DC’s “Clayface” ($10.4 million, second weekend) in a Halloween photo finish that Monday’s finals could still reverse; “Clayface” won Halloween night itself. The documentary’s domestic total is $63.9 million against a $7 million budget. “Wildwood” was third with $7.5 million, “Wicker” fourth with $4.1 million and “Street Fighter” fifth with $3.2 million. The full weekend came to an estimated $55.7 million.
