A sold-out debut, a year off, and a comeback bill that puts Kings of Leon and a returning Ella Langley either side of its founder on an Alabama beach.

— Morgan Wallen’s festival is going back to the beach. Wallen and AEG Presents announced the lineup on Monday morning for the second Sand In My Boots Festival, which returns to Gulf Shores, Alabama, from May 21 to 23, 2027, after a sold-out first edition in 2025 and a year off in 2026. Wallen headlines his own festival, joined at the top of the bill by Kings of Leon and by Ella Langley, who played the inaugural edition and returns as a headliner.

Langley’s Return, Kings Of Leon’s Beach Debut

Langley comes back with the momentum of “Choosin’ Texas,” her record-breaking hit, which has now spent 25 weeks and counting at No. 1. Kings of Leon bring a catalogue spanning ten studio albums, including their forthcoming record “O My Beloved,” due this week. Wallen personally curated the bill, and it reaches well beyond country: Kygo, Empire of the Sun and Girl Talk represent electronic music; Nelly, Flo Rida, Gucci Mane, Rick Ross, Juicy J, Project Pat and the Ying Yang Twins represent hip-hop; Third Eye Blind carry the rock flag alongside Kings of Leon. The country core runs deep — Koe Wetzel, Cole Swindell, Gavin Adcock, Midland, Hudson Westbrook, Avery Anna, Kameron Marlowe, Corey Kent, Vincent Mason, Carter Faith and Kashus Culpepper are all on the poster.

Why There Was No 2026 Festival

The first Sand In My Boots, held in May 2025 with Post Malone, Brooks & Dunn, Hardy and T-Pain among the headliners, sold out. The 2026 edition never happened: Gulf Shores mayor Robert Craft confirmed in December 2025 that the event would not take place that year, saying the application had come too late to book the calibre of acts the city required — and that the city had already approved the festival’s return for 2027. Monday’s announcement is that return, confirmed. For now, the festival is Wallen’s only announced 2027 performance.

The announcement got its own radio moment: SiriusXM’s Morgan Wallen Radio began playing music from the featured artists on Monday to mark the lineup reveal. MusicRow, reporting the bill, noted that it reflects Wallen’s own musical identity — built, in the festival’s words, from his closest collaborators, favourite artists and the performers who inspired him. That is the logic of a poster that can put Gucci Mane and Midland on the same beach without either looking out of place, and of Langley’s promotion from the 2025 undercard to the headline line: in the year since the first festival, “Choosin’ Texas” has become one of the defining country records of the decade, and she arrives in 2027 as one of the genre’s biggest draws in her own right.

Tickets

Passes for the three days go on sale on Friday, November 6, at 10 a.m. Central, with registration open in advance on the festival’s official site. The 2025 edition sold out, and the lineup Wallen has assembled for the comeback — three headliners who each fill arenas on their own, spread across country, rock, hip-hop and dance music on a public beach — is built to do it again.
