The London crime war is back on. MobLand returned to Paramount+ for its second season on Friday, September 18, 2026 — ten episodes, released weekly on Fridays, with the finale set for November 20. Five episodes have aired; the sixth arrives Friday, October 23. Tom Hardy returns as Harry Da Souza, the Harrigans’ fixer; Pierce Brosnan is Conrad Harrigan and Helen Mirren is Maeve, the couple at the head of the family.
The series was created by Ronan Bennett (Top Boy), with Jez Butterworth as co-writer and showrunner. Guy Ritchie is an executive producer and directed the first two episodes of Season 1. The premise: two London crime families, the Harrigans and the Stevensons, slide into a war that threatens both empires, and Harry’s job is to protect his family and clean up its messes. Season 2’s official synopsis has the Harrigans struggling to present a unified front as rivals rise and tensions inside the family intensify. New this season: Johnny Flynn as the villain Frankie Cooper, and Ophelia Lovibond as a series regular.
Season 1 set the records. The premiere on March 30, 2025 drew 2.2 million viewers on its first day — at the time, Paramount+’s biggest global series premiere ever. The season passed 26 million global viewers, making it the No. 2 original series in Paramount+ history, behind only Landman. Critics scored it 76% on Rotten Tomatoes; Season 2 stands at 90% with audiences at 69%.
Season 2’s audience is harder to pin to one number, and the Daily says so plainly. Paramount+ has not published a premiere figure comparable to Season 1’s 2.2 million. By FlixPatrol’s tracking, the series has repeatedly held the No. 1 worldwide spot on Paramount+ during the run and passed 108 cumulative days on the service’s U.S. Top 10. But in its premiere week the season did not make Nielsen’s U.S. streaming Top 10 — Samba TV placed it seventh to eighth for the week and Luminate measured 5.3 million hours. Platform rank and measured U.S. minutes point in different directions.
The third season is already settled — which was not always the story. Paramount+ renewed the series on September 3, 2026, before Season 2 premiered, and confirmed Hardy, Brosnan and Mirren will all return. That followed May 2026 reports in Variety and Deadline that Hardy might exit over friction with showrunner Jez Butterworth during Season 2 filming; Mirren publicly backed Hardy in June, saying she would work with him again “in a heartbeat,” and at the Season 2 premiere on September 10, Brosnan dismissed the feud reports as “a storm in a teacup.” No Season 3 date or episode count has been announced.
